Nespresso D120-US-BK-NE CitiZ Automatic Single-Serve Espresso Maker and Milk Frother, Limousine Black
I believe the review on coffee geek sums it up:
“It is extremely expensive to operate. If you like tall milk based drinks you will need to use at least three pods for the coffee flavor to come through the milk. At $2.25 to $3.00 per drink you can get a cappuccino at your local coffee house. If you are making drinks for two or more you will go through a sleeve of pods with each round of drinks. $40-$50 in pods per month is conservative if you use it daily.”
Plus the fact you are limited to only nespresso cups is absurd…there are limitations on the flavors and if you want to change things up you don’t have much choice.
The water reservoir if far to small if you are using this thing daily.
There is a weird nespresso like cult over these things…if you must go with cups go with K-cup technology atleast your options are far greater as I can find K-cups from hundreds of sources.

My old daily routine was to enjoy a cup of regular coffee at home in the morning, then a decaf mocha (extra chocolate) at a coffee shop or market in the afternoon. Mochas cost $3.00, give or take a few cents, plus tip. I paid for a mocha nearly every day, and the cost easily rose to over $90/month. The quality of the mochas was never consistent. It seemed to depend mostly on the skill of the individual baristas and somewhat on the quality of the coffees. Some mochas were so awful, I would drink only a portion and then dispose of the remainder, feeling badly about the money that was wasted.
Recently my local market went out of business. It was my most reliable source of decent espresso drinks. I decided to take the plunge and buy my own espresso machine, mainly to save money but also with the hope that I could learn to make a good cup of espresso every time.
After researching espresso makers and grinders, I decided to buy the Nespresso CitiZ with Milk, which uses coffee pre-ground and loaded into individual capsules. Of course I prefer the taste of freshly ground and roasted beans. But I live alone and don’t drink a large volume of coffee. I would have to drive to a coffee supply shop to buy a tiny packet of beans every day in order to always have freshly roasted beans on hand. Not a practical solution! The Nespresso pods are filled with perfectly ground espresso coffees. Freshly roasted and ground, the coffee is sealed into recyclable aluminum capsules. The capsules are lined with a film that keeps the coffee from directly contacting the aluminum. Nespresso capsules provide as close to perfectly fresh coffee taste as you can get without daily trips to buy coffee beans. The machine warms up quickly, makes the espresso fairly quietly, and that’s that. The Aerocino Plus milk frother does an excellent job of heating milk and making foam, and is easy to clean.
The various Nespresso coffees taste very smooth and clean, which is not the case at national chain espresso cafes, where the coffee has a nasty powdery residue. My very first cup of Nespresso coffee was better than any cup I ever tasted at a national chain. The Nespresso taste is as good and usually better than espressos I’ve sampled at boutique coffee shops. Makes me want to stay home and enjoy my Nespresso!
I suggest that when using this machine, do pre-warm your cup. And do not fill the Aerocino milk frother over the lines indicated inside the container–in fact, under-filling by a bit helps prevent overflow during the heating and frothing process.
My old cafe-bought mochas cost $3+ each. My Nespresso mochas cost 55 cents each plus the cost of a little milk and chocolate. They are consistently smooth and tasty. The CitiZ machine works like a dream. The Aerocino Plus frother is a wonder. I couldn’t be happier.

The espresso maker works great, but the frother completely stopped working after about 3 weeks. I called Nespresso and they said the frothers were on backorder, so they sent us a temporary unit to keep until they shipped the replacement for the machine. It was super easy and they were great. Excellent customer service.
However, I’m not sure I would get the frother unit again. It makes the unit’s footprint quite a bit larger and it does scorch and overflow on occasion. We only use the machine to make latte’s, so heating the milk in the microwave would accomplish the same goal. The frother also makes stiff foam with a separate attachment. We have never made stiff foam so I cannot comment on how well that works. Final opinion: love the machine and company, but ditch the frother.

Nespresso D120-US-BK-NE CitiZ Automatic Single-Serve Espresso Maker and Milk Frother, Limousine Black
I did a lot of research before purchasing this coffee machine. I used to own a Starbucks Barista Machine – it broke down. I bought another and it broke as well. My father has the Nespresso in England and as I used it a lot over Christmas I wanted to get one when I got back. I read some reviews about reliability but was reassured that Nespresso has a great customer service department. With that assurance I purchased the combined CitiZ machine with built in Aerochino. OMG! I love it. No hassle coffee, made in less than 20 seconds. I only ever use one pod and drink it black. The best part is my 7 and 10 year old fight over who is going to being me coffee in the morning! Only one thing to be wary. If you over fill the Aerochino the excess runs under the water tank and you have to clean it before it turns to cheese! I use the aerochino for hot chocolate, cappucino etc. All my friends love it too. I bought the mixed pods collection and got a free ebony box for storage. Its sleek and does the job perfectly.
