Product Description
Lavazza coffee has been an Italian tradition for over 100 years. All Lavazza coffee is Convection Air Roasted to ensure that the bean is never burned. Lavazza never over cooks their beans to gain flavor strength, rather they create flavor profiles by blending beans. This Lavazza espresso is made from 100% Arabica beans. Lavazza has constructed a compilation of high ground beans from Central America and Brazil to ensure that the final product is lower in caffeine and has an ultra smooth flavor with a faintly sweet finish…. Lavazza Pienaroma Espresso Whole Bean Coffee, 2.2-Pound Bag
Perfect for superautomatic espresso machines (beans are not greasy). I’ve saved thousands of dollars over the past five years making my own lattes, cappuccinos and mochas at home. The current coffee count on my superautomatic Gaggia 90501 Titanium SS Super Automatic Espresso and Cappuccino Machine, Stainless Steel is 4,255. “Charbucks” charges $3.20 for a one-shot latte using burnt-tasting espresso – 4,255 lattes over five years would have cost me $13,616! A bi-monthly subscription to Lavazza beans is the only way to go.

This used to be the real great one in Northern Italian style espresso – half the price of Illy Normale, and more consistent. But that’s apparently all over now. I have just had exactly the same experience as D. Cocco reports above. The coffee was stale, and completely changed – way overbalanced toward one, particularly strong flavor. I sent a respectful email to them about this, and received no reply. It wasn’t necessary to pay the premium price for imported Italian coffee anyway; it’s just that this one was a particular favorite, so I’d spring for it once in a while. But there are better choices, and for a lot less. Dean’s Beans, for instance.

I continue to be impressed with the Lavazza line of coffees and Pienaroma is no exception. This is great coffee, not quit as laid back as some of their line and I find I can’t grind it as fine as I do others. All said and done it makes a fine cappuccino or straight up espresso. Enjoy.

Lavazza Pienaroma Espresso Whole Bean Coffee, 2.2-Pound Bag
We found the Lavazza Pienaroma to be a high quality, very satisfying coffee. It makes a perfect expresso to enjoy in the morning with your favorite biscotti or an excellent cappucino after a good meal. We also appreciate it in the evening since it won’t keep us awake all night as some cheaper makes/blends will do. We only had positive cxomments from our guests.

Lavazza Pienaroma Espresso Whole Bean Coffee, 2.2-Pound Bag
Very disappointed. I have ordered Lavazza Pienaroma many times from Amazon. This time the beans were not fresh and tasted awful. I ended up with 4.4 lbs of stale beans.
